Looking for a Window

It’s been said God never closes a door without opening a window.

There are some young ladies who are hurting this week because someone dear to them has died. I’d like to help. I know they need to talk about their feelings. I know they need someone to pray for them. I know they need someone who cares about them to help them begin to heal in a positive way- it’s so easy to get angry instead amidst all the pain.

I want to be their helper. I’m thinking a slumber party, but what would I do with my kiddos? What if my house isn’t pretty enough?
I’d also like to have a Bible study with these young ladies, and be with them through the more “normal” growing they’ll be doing.

Where, though? Lord, please show me a window.

Your house is fine. The kids can spend the night with friends. You are one of the most psychologically generous people I know. Whatever you come up with will be deeply appreciated. Maybe a Bible study first, then a sleepover? You are well respected in your church, I’ve seen that first hand. Something or someone will show you the direction you need to take. I admire your desire to *do* something.

If these young ladies are from your church, and if you are referring to the death I believe you are referring to, I know 3 of them who are not going to care what your house looks like. I can say that with confidence because they have been in my messy house with it’s American Thrift Store decor many times over the years and have never seemed to mind!

I’m beginning to think you two are right- my house is the right place. Because it’s me, and me is all I have to share.

I’m also beginning to think the question is not “Where?” but “When?”, because their hours- and mine- are not what their parents might think of as “normal”. So I’m going to talk with their parents, first….

    Deo gloria!

Hey, IntheWorld, did you change blog addresses? I keep looking for a post more recent than May… ;) No pressure or anything!

No, I just haven’t written anything since then (other than in my head).
